Manage your workshop with the Facilitator Bar
The Facilitator Bar is the vertical control bar inside a Stormz workshop. It opens live management panels and gives access to the activity and workshop settings editors.
You will not always see every control. Stormz hides some buttons when they are not relevant to the current activity, your role, or the current facilitation mode.
Simple mode and Expert mode
The facilitator bar has two modes:
- Simple mode keeps the most common workshop controls visible.
- Expert mode shows the full control surface, including advanced setup and integration panels.
Use Simple mode when you want to facilitate with fewer choices on screen. Use Expert mode for the full activity editor and additional live view controls. Workshop settings, including Stream Deck and Overlays, are available in both modes when your role allows them.
Switch from Simple mode to Expert mode
- Open your workshop.
- Look at the bottom of the Facilitator Bar.
- Click Expert mode.
The bar expands to show the advanced controls available for your workshop.
To go back, click Simple mode at the bottom of the bar.
What the controls are for
The exact buttons depend on the activity, but the Facilitator Bar usually gives access to controls such as:
- Participants — invite people and see who is connected.
- Activities and playlist — launch an activity or move through your session plan.
- Edit activity — open the same editor used from the playlist. In Expert mode, card activities have sections for questions, instructions, views, filters, classification, cards, automations, and voting setup.
- Views and filters — change how cards are displayed or narrowed down.
- Voting — launch and manage voting sessions.
- Meeting Bot — capture contributions from an online meeting.
- AI Assistant — ask about the workshop and prepare new cards.
- Workshop settings — open General, Save & export, Stream Deck, Overlays, and Danger zone. General settings save as you edit; exports, integration actions, and confirmed resets run when you select them.
If you cannot find a control, first switch to Expert mode. If it still does not appear, the current activity or your permissions may not need or allow that control.
