Upgrade or downgrade

Change your package or designer seats, with a clear view of billing and workspace consequences.

You can change your paid subscription from Account Plan. Before confirming, check whether you're changing the package or only the designer quantity: the billing consequences are different.

A package change means switching between Starter and Expert/Team, or choosing a different participant capacity. A seat-only change keeps the same package and changes the number of Designers. If you change both together, the package-change rules apply.

See Stormz pricing for current prices and plan limits. If you're moving from Alpha or a Trial to your first paid subscription, start with Choose a plan.

Make a change

  1. Open Account Plan and click Change subscription.
  2. Choose the package and designer quantity you want.
  3. Read the consequences shown under the offer, then click its Change subscription button.
  4. Review the confirmation, including the amount, any tax, the renewal date, and the change details.
  5. Click Confirm change, or Back to choose something else.
  6. If Stripe asks you to complete a payment, follow that step. Return to Account Plan to check the updated subscription.

Stormz updates your plan after Stripe confirms the change. If the amount increases before confirmation completes, Stormz asks you to review and confirm the new total.

Change packages

Changing packages starts a new monthly billing period after payment, even when you're choosing a lower-capacity package.

  • The new package starts immediately after payment.
  • A new billing month starts; the confirmation shows the new renewal date.
  • Included AI Credits and Meeting Bot time reset for the new month.
  • The change does not refund or credit your previous payment.

For example, if you need a larger participant capacity for an upcoming workshop, choosing it starts a new billing month. It doesn't charge only the difference for the days left in your old month.

Add designer seats

When you increase designer seats without changing packages:

  • The extra capacity becomes available after payment.
  • Your renewal date stays the same.
  • The charge covers the remaining part of the current billing period.
  • Additional AI Credits and Meeting Bot time are adjusted for that remaining period.

Reduce designer seats

Removing someone from a workspace and reducing your subscription quantity are separate actions. A seat stays part of your paid capacity until you change the subscription.

  1. Check the Designer seats usage on Account Plan.
  2. If your intended quantity is below current usage, use the Designers list to remove people who no longer need access. Remove removes that person's membership from all workspaces covered by the plan. Workspace Owners cannot be removed here.
  3. Open Change subscription, keep the same package, and lower Designer seats.
  4. Review and confirm the change.

A Designer still assigned in another covered workspace continues to count toward usage. Stormz blocks a reduction below the number of assigned Designers.

A seat-only reduction applies immediately, with no refund or credit and no change to your renewal date. Your included AI Credits and Meeting Bot time decrease immediately too; usage already recorded in the current period still counts.

If you want to keep your current capacity and allowances until renewal, wait before confirming. This flow does not schedule a future reduction.

Switch to Starter

Switching from Expert/Team or Alpha to Starter also changes workspace access:

  • Non-owner memberships are removed from every workspace covered by your account, including your personal workspace.
  • Workspaces other than your personal workspace become unavailable.
  • Workspace ownership and workshop data are preserved.

This removes workspace memberships automatically, unlike a seat-only reduction, which requires you to free occupied seats first.

If you later choose a plan with available workspace capacity, an Owner can open an inactive workspace other than their personal workspace and choose Reactivate workspace. Reactivation does not restore removed memberships; those people must be added again.

You can still download workshops from workspaces you own.

If a change is blocked

  • Too many Designers assigned: remove the required assignments or choose a quantity that covers current usage.
  • Cancellation scheduled: reactivate through Manage subscription before trying to change the plan.
  • Payment pending: complete the pending payment before making another change.
  • Unchanged selection: choose a different package or designer quantity.

For payment problems or a change that can't be completed online, see Manage your subscription or contact support.
