Pin on Image view
The Pin on Image view displays participant contributions directly on a background image. A contribution can appear as a simple pin or as a card positioned at a specific point.
Pin on Image is a view rather than a separate activity type. The same cards can be displayed in other Stormz views during the workshop.
Configure the view
Open Change View and select Image Pin. You can then configure:
- Color by: choose None, Participant, or an available question or classification.
- Default pin look: display contributions as avatars or pins.
- Double-click action: place a quick pin or create a card with details.
- Background image: select a provided image or upload a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF.
Click Apply to save the configuration and synchronize it with participants. Stormz displays an Out of sync notice when your current view differs from what participants see.
Participant behavior
Participants double-click the image to add a contribution. What happens next depends on the configured double-click action: Stormz either places a quick pin or opens the card form.
Participants can place multiple contributions and reposition them. Pin on Image works on desktop and mobile, and participants can zoom to inspect the image.
Use the cards in other views
Contributions created in Pin on Image remain ordinary Stormz cards. You can switch the activity to another view, such as Kanban or Matrix, to organize and discuss them differently. Questions and classifications remain attached to each card.
Image Pin view and Metaphor view
Both views display workshop cards on an image, but they organize those cards differently.
The Image Pin view places each contribution at a free position on the background image. It can display an avatar or pin at that position, and the background can be a custom image.
The Metaphor view divides its image into predefined zones linked to classification values. Participants add a card through a zone, and Stormz assigns that card to the corresponding value. Cards belong to named zones rather than free-positioned pins.
Use Image Pin when the exact position on an image matters. Use Metaphor when the image represents defined areas or stages that should classify the cards.
Important notes
- Stormz does not currently enforce a maximum number of pins per participant.
- Image Pin is not compatible with the Meeting Bot. A Zoom or Microsoft Teams chat message cannot tell Stormz where to place a pin on the image, so participants must join the workshop in Stormz from their phone or computer.
- Choose an image shape and level of detail that remain usable on participants' devices.
